| NXP MCUXpresso SDK USB middleware (mcuxsdk-middleware-usb) before 2.13.0 contains a heap buffer overflow in host audio, video and CDC class drivers that trust device-supplied bNumEndpoints and bLength values. A malicious USB device can supply crafted descriptors that write endpoint entries past the fixed-size epList array, corrupting heap memory for code execution or denial of service. |
| Heap-based buffer overflow in Microsoft Office Outlook allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code locally. |
| A flaw was found in GStreamer's gst-plugins-bad H.265 video parser. When parsing a specially crafted H.265 bitstream containing a Screen Content Coding (SCC) extension with certain palette predictor initializer settings, an integer underflow in the upper-bound computation allows the parser to accept an out-of-range value for the number of palette predictor entries. This causes the parser to write beyond the end of a fixed-size array, resulting in memory corruption and an application crash. Successful exploitation requires an attacker to provide a malformed H.265 media file to a vulnerable application, and is limited to a denial-of-service impact. |

| A heap-based buffer overflow flaw was found in Cyrus SASL. The add_to_challenge() function in the DIGEST-MD5 plugin computes the size of the buffer needed for a challenge/response field before DIGEST-MD5 quoting is applied, but does not recompute that size when quoting (escaping special characters) makes the value longer. The under-sized buffer is then passed to strcat(), causing a heap-based out-of-bounds write whose size depends on attacker-controlled input. A malicious or on-path DIGEST-MD5 (or HTTP Digest) server can trigger this flaw in a connecting client by supplying a crafted challenge field, such as realm or nonce, most likely resulting in a crash of the client application. |
| Heap-based buffer overflow in Windows Imaging Component allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code over a network. |
| Heap-based buffer overflow in Windows Win32K allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges over a network. |
| A heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the vtkWindBladeReader FindVariableOffsets functionality of vtk (version(s): 9.6.1). A specially crafted .wind can lead to a buffer overflow. An attacker can provide a malicious file to trigger this vulnerability. |

| RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker. Prior to versions 4.2.7 and 4.3.1, The stream open handler calls only check_vhost_access; it omits the node/vhost/user connection-limit checks that rabbit_reader performs for AMQP. A developer %% FIXME comment at the cited line explicitly acknowledges the gap. No compensating enforcement exists in connection tracking or elsewhere in rabbitmq_stream. An authenticated tenant can fully bypass operator-configured per-user and per-vhost connection caps by connecting via port 5552 instead of 5672. Preconditions include rabbitmq_stream plugin enabled Authenticated stream-protocol credentials Operator relies on per-user/per-vhost connection limits for tenant isolation. This issue is fixed in versions 4.2.7 and 4.3.1. |
| A flaw was found in Ghostscript. When processing a specially crafted TrueType font or document embedding one, an accounting error during font rendering can bypass buffer size checks, triggering a heap-based buffer overflow. A remote attacker could exploit this by enticing a victim or automated service to open the malicious content, potentially resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS) crash or arbitrary code execution. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
USB: serial: mct_u232: fix memory corruption with small endpoint
The driver overrides the maximum transfer size for a specific device
which only accepts 16 byte packets for its 32 byte bulk-out endpoint.
Make sure to never increase the maximum transfer size to prevent slab
corruption should a malicious device report a smaller endpoint max
packet size than expected. |
| Heap-based buffer overflow in Windows Client-Side Caching (CSC) Service allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
smb: client: fix heap overflow in cifs_do_set_acl()
cifs_set_acl() validates ACL size using posix_acl_xattr_size():
4 + (count * 8) // 4-byte header + 8 bytes per ACE
cifs_do_set_acl() then calls posix_acl_to_cifs() to write the CIFS
wire format into the same buffer:
6 + (count * 10) // 6-byte header + 10 bytes per ACE
An ACL that passes the xattr-based check in cifs_set_acl() can
overflow the heap when posix_acl_to_cifs() writes the larger CIFS
format.
Validate the CIFS format size against the remaining buffer space and
USHRT_MAX before converting--data_count is __u16, so sizes above
USHRT_MAX truncate the on-wire packet length, causing the server to
apply a partial ACL. Replace MaxDataCount = 1000 with
min(CIFSMaxBufSize, USHRT_MAX). |
